Meet Tom Lance

For more than three decades, Tom Lance served as a pastor, walking alongside people through faith, questions, change, and the ordinary challenges of life. Those years shaped the way he writes today: with a pastor’s heart, a storyteller’s eye, and a belief that the deepest truths should be understandable and livable.

Life changed dramatically after a traumatic brain injury in 2016. The years that followed required Tom to relearn, adapt, and discover new ways of moving forward. Through every step, his wife of 46 years, Cindy, has been his devoted caregiver, advocate, and steady partner. Tom is quick to say that he would not be where he is today without Cindy’s extraordinary faithfulness, sacrifice, and love.

Today, writing and photography have become central to Tom’s recovery and creative life. Through TJL Creations, he writes about faith, authentic connection, and the lessons found in ordinary life—always with the hope of encouraging people rather than simply impressing them.
